She has been curating exhibitions at the independent space JET in Berlin, Kunsthalle Exnergasse in Vienna, and the ZKM in Karlsruhe. Her most recent show at Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen (with Markus Heinzelmann) focused on the different temporalities of exhibiting through the photographic projects of Candida Höfer, extended by a comprehensive publication. In 2005 she co-founded the group and project space General Public in Berlin where she organises Screening in General #01 to #1X with Filipa César, Clemens von Wedemeyer, Sandra Schäfer a.o. Doreen obtained her PhD from the Curatorial/Knowledge of the Visual Cultures department at Goldsmiths College London in 2013.
