Hidden Screenplays relates to the alternative movements against the obedience and it focuses on the cracks and seeps that occur within the communities. It comes into prominence of destruction either the dominant statement or the discipline. At the very same time questions the daily life rituals and regulations even as it continues to be a part of it. According to James Scott, Hidden Screenplays emerge from certain situations when there are no responses left against dominance. Thus, identity, sexist and psychological repressions, military services and womanhood are wealthy resources that constructed the concept for this exhibition. Hidden Screenplays included contravention of borders together with the power of imagination against dominance.

The countries such as Turkey and Iran are probably the most proper locations to be questioned about certain social norms, simply because of their domineering government structures. And it let us face them either with a tactic or a trick that comes from our own observations and experiences. Such examples like the destruction of womanhood, compulsory military services, and being exposed to dictatorship lead individuals into different ways of defection. Therefore the tactic originates itself into individuals who are ignored by the domineering governments.

Finally, using a space that sustains itself as underground and so, away from the eyes of the authority instead of public space might weaken the see ability of the exhibited works, but in the meantime, it brings itself into existence as a Hidden Screenplay as well. By using this space the exhibition created an alternative tactic that made the notion of obedience interrupted.

Kardelen Fincancı was born in 1985 in Istanbul. She graduated from the Plastic Arts Department at the Kocaeli University in Istanbul and holds a MA in Art and Design from the Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul. Kardelen creates site-specific installations and makes public performances.

İsmail Egler was born in 1983 in Istanbul. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in Istanbul and holds an MA in Interactive Media Design from the Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul. İsmail also holds an MFA in Media Design from FH Joanneum in Graz. İsmail's research is focused on time-based media and he produces works based on narrative forms. İsmail has held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Turkey and Australia. He currently lives and works in Graz and Istanbul.

S. Nesli Gül was born in 1986 and is based in Istanbul. Nesli graduated from the Faculty of Art and Design at the Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul and holds an MA in Museum Studies from the Faculty of Art and Design at the Yildiz Technical University. She currently works as a research assistant at the Yildiz Technical University and is an independent curator.
