Communicating Visually (Content and Context) ⧚ Feren C

02 May 2012

The talk explored the language of visual communication, perception and the implications of use in a global community.

From only a few being able to produce and distribute visual images a century ago, technology has evolved both the ease to create as well as opened up the channels of distribution bringing people in the world closer. Yet, the language of visual communication has not become an inherent subject that we learn, as that of language itself. How can we be sure an image communicates intent correctly, is this something which the ‘producer’ or the ‘creator’ needs to be concerned with and what is its relation with changes in how our online/offline interaction takes place in society and with commercial entities?

The speaker, Feren C has an academic background in History of Visual Media and Creative Technology.

The talk was held in conjunction with a book launch which was curated and published by Sazmanab.
