Where Shall We Go Today?

Opening: 23.09.2020

What happens when one version of a parallel reality is open to the public and the other houses a struggling part-time superhero who wrestles with anxiety? In the video Where Shall We Go Today? experts in various fields have been invited to The Other Apartment in Pittsburgh to teach skills of coping and resilience to *Super Sohrab, a part-time superhero living alone in Tehran under Covid-19 as he does his best to maintain his mental and physical health. Through the spatial and political loophole of The Other Apartment, Super Sohrab is visited by a therapist, dance teacher, Tai chi master and a voice instructor, with each session revealing his vulnerability, persistence and humor.

*Super Sohrab, Sohrab Kashani’s alter-ego, uses satire and failure in his attempts to navigate the everyday challenges of daily life in Iran, including currency fluctuations, visa complications, air pollution, getting out of bed and ironing his clothes.
